The Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Benavente is an Association of Faithful, with more than 780 years old, constituted in the Canonical Legal Order to satisfy social needs and to carry out Catholic religious acts, all in harmony with its traditional spirit, based on the principles of Christian doctrine and morals.

From an early age, he combined the health component with social and spiritual works, in his services to the population.

Now, as it has been over the centuries, its main mission is to help, support and comfort the most disadvantaged and weakest, with this spirit of mission strengthened in the fourteen works of mercy.

Parallel to this social aspect, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Benavente provides healthcare to the population, in the preventive, curative and rehabilitation aspects.
